Empowering Change: Swat Valley, Pakistan

In the remote mountains of the Himalayas, a remarkable transformation has begun to unfold. Amidst the challenges posed by the region's tumultuous history while partially under the rule of the Taliban until 2020, Emergency Project has taken a bold step to bring hope and healing to the resilient communities of Swat Valley, Pakistan. In a region where fear once dominated and restrictions stifled progress, EP along with their strategic partners set up a women and children's clinic, bringing medical care to a place where where access was once denied to many. 

In March 2023, we intended on seeing between 400 and 1,000 patients at the Rahat Kot Women and Children’s Clinic but by the end of the week, physicians treated over 2,000 patients.

Emergency care was administered on site, education and diagnostic resources otherwise unavailable were provided to local teams and residents leaving a lasting impact in the region.

None of this would have been possible without Envision Healthcare, Imana and CDRS who were our incredible hosts in Swat Valley. Their team of doctors, pharmacists and volunteers made this an unforgettable experience for all providers involved.
