DAJABON MISSION COMPLETE

This past week, Emergency Project and Envision Healthcare sent a team of healthcare providers and volunteers including emergency physicians, an orthopedic surgeon, a pediatric ER nurse practitioner, nurses, local residents and translators, medical students, a nursing student and even had a local optometrist performing eye exams to Capatillo; an underserved community located along the Haitian border in Dajabon Province.

It was an honor to work with our longtime friends Rescate Ambar who assisted with operations on the ground in Dominican Republic as well as helped with translating onsite. We were able to offer ultrasounds to patients utilizing the Buttery Fly iQ3+ to investigate a wide variety of complaints as well as sonograms for pregnant mothers who were able to see their babies for the very first time.

The mission couldn’t have happened without the help of our incredible volunteers and providers. We thank you all for your participation and are eagerly planning our next Dominican Republic mission so we may continue our work there. Please enjoy a slide show of a few select moments below.

If you would appreciate the work we are doing, please consider making a donation.
