project ultrasound: guinea
In Guinea, where maternal mortality remains alarmingly high at 553 deaths per 100,000 live births, Emergency Project collaborated with Peace Corps and USAID volunteers to enhance maternal healthcare in rural areas. Our team provided Butterfly ultrasounds and delivered comprehensive training to nurse midwives, empowering them with essential diagnostic tools to improve prenatal and maternal care. This initiative aims to address the critical health disparities in the region, fostering sustainable improvements in maternal and child health outcomes.
*This project is temporarily on pause due to 2025 USAID funding cuts. We remain committed to returning when circumstances allow and continue to support our partners on the ground in the meantime.
