Darren Cuthbert, MD, MPH
Co-Founder, Executive Director
Darren Cuthbert is an emergency physician and global health advocate committed to delivering care in some of the world’s most underserved and crisis-affected regions. As the original founder of Emergency Project, he leads humanitarian missions addressing health disparities driven by conflict, climate change, and systemic inequities. His work has taken him to conflict zones within Ukraine and Haiti, refugee camps in Jordan, disaster-hit regions of Zimbabwe and Southeast Asia, and rural communities in Guatemala and Pakistan’s Swat Valley. He is also a faculty member at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a U.S. Army veteran, and an expedition physician with National Geographic—his work spanning both polar regions and across six continents. Darren’s research and fieldwork focus on scalable emergency care solutions, capacity-building, and the intersection of global health and humanitarian response.
