Audrey Svongwa Director of International Operations - Africa

Audrey Svongwa is a force of nature—a leader, strategist, and advocate who has been instrumental in bringing Emergency Project’s mission to life in Zimbabwe. As Director of International Operations – Africa, she single-handedly built EP’s Zimbabwe initiative from the ground up, navigating complex governmental and community networks to bring care to some of the most underserved populations in the nation. Her efforts have helped address the staggering health challenges caused by one of the worst economic crises in human history and the devastation of Cyclone Idai—a storm that left entire communities cut off from basic medical services. Thanks to her adaptability, relentless determination, and ability to overcome adversity, EP’s first mission was a resounding success, delivering healthcare to the remote Mozambique border region—an area where few NGOs venture.

Beyond her humanitarian work, Audrey is a former professional powerlifter, having competed on the international stage, and now dedicates her time to coaching Special Olympics powerlifting athletes, channeling her strength into empowering others. A graduate of the University of Zimbabwe with a degree in Economics, she brings strategic expertise and logistical brilliance to everything she does. Her warmth, leadership, and unwavering dedication make her an indispensable part of the EP team—and an inspiration to everyone who has the privilege of working alongside her.
